Safety first is not a slogan
40&OFL is a sanctioned combat sports promotion, or a sanctioned exhibition where the jurisdiction requires it. No unsanctioned bouts. No informal scraps on our cards.
Eligibility
- Age 40 and over
- Medical clearance required
- Completion of the approved qualifying program
- The athletic commission will not clear a fighter with evidence of prior injuries that make competition unsafe
Gear and rules
- Boxing: 16 oz gloves
- MMA: 10 oz gloves
- Lightweight headgear with sensors
- Weight classes enforced
- Modified round lengths for entry-level competitors
- Standard rounds for experienced fighters
- Strict referee stoppage authority and conservative stoppage thresholds
On fight night
Ringside physician
A doctor at the cage or ring, with authority to stop a bout.
EMT and ambulance
Emergency services on site for every card.
Licensing
Promoter, fighter, and referee licenses. Event insurance. Drug testing where required.
Waivers cover assumption of risk, medical disclosure, media and likeness, and a code of conduct. Safety is how we keep insurance, venues, sponsors, and the commission with us.
